Layering Samples

Layering samples can be a great way of coming up with powerful, inspiring and unique sounds, but how do you choose the right source material? It isn’t always easy, but if you download this SampleRadar collection, you’ll have a suite of noises that you know will be useful when you want to do some stacking. These samples originally appeared on Computer Music magazine’s cover DVD.

All the samples are supplied as WAV files so can be imported directly into your DAW or sampler of choice. Because they’re royalty-free, you’re welcome to use the samples in your music in any way you like. In hip hop it was common practice to layer drums, but really you can layer any sound and having a library like this one, makes it easy.
