Reverb Offers FREE Vintage Drum Samples

Reverb.com is offering their Vintage Drum Samples Vol. 1 drum sample library as a free download for a limited time. If you ask me, you can never have enough acoustic drum samples. Traditionally they are great to  substitute a bad drum recording, but in beat making they are usually used as a layering tool for adding character to boring sounding stock drums. In my recent adventures into Eurorack I can attest that they are also an excellent source material for creative sound design!

Vintage Drum Samples at its core is a collection of vintage drum kit samples in WAV format. You will find one-shot samples as well as groove recordings, so it’s up to you if you want to start from scratch or just drop existing loops into your project.

Included are samples of three different Ludwig kits (Ludwig Club Date, Ludwig Mod Orange, and Ludwig Red Vistalites) which cover many genres. You definitely get the instant vibe of Rock, Blues and Pop. But throw your favourite saturation plugin into the processing chain and prepare for a world of grit and well-defined character.

The quality of the samples is top notch, but be aware that the one-shots sound like they were sliced from the grooves and not recorded individually as hits. Especially for hip hop drums this is a good thing though, so you get more organic drums sound by using these samples.

All in all you have three folders – the single drum hits, one for riffs, and of course the original drum loops. Vintage Drum Samples Vol. 1 normally costs €1.75, which is cheap as it is. But at the moment you can download it for free, which is even better!  Visit the product page linked below to download this free Vintage Drums sample pack.
