Rhythm Roulette

Rhythm Roulette is a beat making segment run by Mass Appeal where known producers have to flip samples from the records they picked out while blindfolded earlier in the day. Three random records are usually sampled – sometimes its cassettes or VHS as well – chosen from a local store. The results offer us a unique perspective into the musical minds of these world-class beatmakers and the hidden souls of the records that destiny hath given.

Our personal favourites are Tony Seltzer sampling from old VHS cassettes, Stro Elliot showing us how finger drumming can help you build a beat organically and Nick Hook taking us inside his inpiring studio in Brooklyn!
